NCNS is currently running a number of successful programs to assist local Cranebrook residents obtain employment. In order to assist our residents to maintain their jobs, some may need ongoing training and support to fill an identified gap. NCNS is committed to helping with this.
Cranebrook Community Centre, in partnership with TAFE is running fee free training including an Accredited Mentoring Course. This course runs for 4 weeks x 2 hour sessions with a follow up session. It is aimed at community workers, potential employers and residents.
Mentoring support is a very important part of the project – while we might get people into jobs, it’s keeping them there that is the hard part. There are a lot of barriers for many members of our community, and without support, it may be difficult for them to maintain employment.
In the near future we will also be offering a TAFE Barista course and Food Safety, we are currently taking expressions of interest.
