Cranebrook Estate Christmas Party

The Cranebrook Estate Christmas Party was held on Thursday the 4th of December 2014 and was a successful event. There were some fears about the weather, but we decided that we would move forward with the event.

We had approximately 200 local Housing residents of Cranebrook attend. There were face painters, temporary tattoos artists, jumping castle, Santa and Mrs Claus, children activities, snow cones, BBQ and even pancakes! At one point it started raining and not even the weather could turn people away. The rain falling during a humid summer’s day certainly made the day more refreshing.

The Walan Mahlee Aboriginal Girls Dance Group did a fabulous job performing for us. Their traditional Indigenous dancing is inspiring and these young girls are very talented.

Santa and Mrs Claus are always a hit and to see the faces of all the children light up when they meet them is very exciting. It makes you admire their innocence and brings out the Christmas spirit in all of us.

We would like to thank all of the partners that joined in the fun:

  • Botanic Gardens
  • Penrith City Council
  • Wentworth Housing
  • Foothills Vineyard Church
  • Westcare
  • Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District- Drug & Alcohol Service
  • Platform Youth Services
  • Braddock Public School
  • Penrith Police

This is the festive season so please remember to have a safe one and help others in need. Not all of us will have the resources to go all out for Christmas this year so be kind to one another and have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! Let’s hope that there are many more to come and that the weather is kind to me next year for the Cranebrook Estate Christmas Party 2015.
