Children’s Week is an annual event celebrating the right of children to enjoy their childhood. We love to celebrate this initiative every year and 2016 was no different.
With a focus on ‘hands on’ activities, our Children’s Week celebrations consisted of a range of fun and engaging things to do; a Tumble Town, petting zoo, a number of sensory play areas, art and craft, a photo booth, construction activities, Ruby Roo and more!
Not only did the event allow children to have fun, it created a space for families and communities to engage with their children in a fun and safe environment. Along with families coming together to enjoy the day, we had the Kindy class from the local school visit. we were also joined by High School students studying childcare. The day provided an opportunity for them to gain real life experience in their chosen field of study.
A huge thank you to all who were involved in the day, and those who supported the initiative. Thanks to Penrith City Council, Northcott, West Connect, Lifestart, UnitingCare, Jaanimili, NSWHealth and all others who were involved in making the day such a special time for our local community.
